Edge Coil & Edgewound Resistors
Electrohm’s Edge Coil & Edgewound Resistors are the industries workhorse of electrical power dissipation and are amongst the most robust range of resistors currently available. Offering an extended range of current and resistance values unrivaled by any other manufacturer. Current common offerings include E Type, HD Type and MD Type.
Load Banks
Electrohm designs both maintenance free naturally ventilated resistor load banks and fan assisted load banks. Our load banks can be 100% customized and built to your specific requirements.
Our resistor load banks are commonly used in the following applications: load testing generators, providing base loads for standby generators, UPS load testing, battery discharge, appliance testing and more.
Helical Coil Resistors
HC Resistors design incorporates a coiled wire helically wound on a grooved insulator to provide expansion/contraction under various loading conditions. These can operate at high temperatures without detrimental effect. HC Resistors are designed for low to medium current ratings and are ideal for short term ratings such as Dynamic Braking and Motor Starting. Although, they can also be used as heaters at elevated temperatures.
Zdex Grid Banks
The Zdex grid type resistors design makes it ideal for short time rated applications such as neutral earthing resistors, motor starting, speed regulation, dummy load testing, dynamic braking, traction, and hoist/crane control. Standard design utilizes alloy steel slit plate elements assembled together with mica (or ceramic) and micanite insulation. Supports come from M12 high tensile tire rods which strengthens the resistor bank. The resistor banks are tested to the latest BS and IEE standard for working voltages of 750 volts.
